Designed with the combined knowledge of a nanny and a teacher, My Nanny Planner is the perfect balance of educationally based skills mixed with the practicality of keeping young children engaged.
With 12 years of nanny experience, our co-founding nanny knows the importance of keeping young children engaged and entertained while also preparing them for kindergarten or other future schooling. Familiar with the nanny community, she understands the limitations of working in a home setting and the lack of time and monetary means available for individual nannies to do research and planning on their own. Finding a lack of direct and easy childcare information geared specifically toward nannies, our co-founder envisioned a flexible program tied to children's interests that utilized common household products and inexpensive supplies.
With a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, our co-founding teacher has spent over ten years working in educational environments and classrooms from kindergarten through middle school. Having a strong background in researched-based best practices, lesson planning, and curriculum development, our co-founder understands the importance of introducing developmentally appropriate activities to children to best tap into their academic potential. These developmental skills are embedded into the themes contained in the My Nanny Planner packets.
This program is designed for children ages 2 to 7. However, with flexibility as a key to the program, all of the activities can easily be made more or less challenging. There are tips included with the games and crafts on how to do so, as well as, descriptions on varying the skill level in our free download, which is available on the purchase page. Although designed with nannies in mind, our themed units also work great for use by parents and daycares and in preschool settings.
