Candy Heart Painting for Valentine's Day

Did you know candy hearts produce a lovely pastel water color style paint?

Let candy hearts dissolve in water for about 15 minutes. Stir them around occasionally to help them mix into the water.  Then let children paint the mixture onto paper. You may need to add more water to the hearts as they dry up.  We also had some messy sensory fun by grabbing those little candies and rubbing them and our tinted fingers on the paper.

Once your paper is dry cut out hearts to make a Valentine's Day garland.  Tuck the extra hearts into your Valentine mail or add to a heart themed craft table.

Candy Heart Busy Bags for Valentine's Day

Keep those kiddos busy with this FREE adorable printable. It contains six fun activities and games to play with a box of candy hearts.  All 6 pages and the box of candy fit perfectly in a zip-loc bag.

Do you use busy bags?
They are a great way to keep little ones entertained when on the go.  They can also be used at home to keep kids occupied when you need to prepare or clean up meals.  We like to prepare a month of busy bags and store them in a binder or bin. This makes it super easy to stash a few in the diaper bag as you are heading out the door.

Included in this printable are the following 6 candy heart play mats:

- Candy Dice Game
- Pick A heart Game
- Graphing Candies Activity
- Estimating Game
- Counting Hearts Activity
- Tic Tac Toe Game
